He did many good things. Plese show me how he wins in 2024. DeSantis has done better in counties carried by Trump than Trump did, and he did better in Biden counties than Trump did.

DeSantis doesn’t turn off suburban women. He can credibly talk to them about the Democult’s War on Suburbs. But they’re the ones who put Trump in office in 2016 and out in 2020.

If DeSantis goes against Trump and wins the nomination, he will lose the MAGA vote. He may do well with the moderates in the suburbs, but turnout in rural and exurban areas will be weak. All the haranguing by the likes of Sean Hannity, Hugh Hewitt and the rest of Conservatism, Inc., will not move the needle. The days of pawning off the likes of Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney to the conservative base are over. Granted, DeSantis’s record is far better than the failed candidates I mentioned, but he will have the taint of the RINO establishment if he chooses to run in 2024.

I am not sure he wins. That’s the $64,000 question isn’t it? His polls look good. But sometimes polls are accurate and sometimes not. I don’t know how to tell.

I am not sure DeSantis wins either. Both men should be a cakewalk in any sane nation. But we are nuts.
