The crowdfund page for the ex-Marine accused of second-degree manslaughter in the death of Jordan Neely has surpassed $1million Daniel Penny's fundraiser was set up by his lawyers on the page Give Send Go, the page is synonymous with conservative causes such as the Freedom Convoy Penny is charged with second degree manslaughter in Neely's death, he could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted

A crowdfunding effort for the ex-Marine charged with second-degree manslaughter over the death of a homeless schizophrenic on a New York City subway has soared past $1million.

The fund, set up by Daniel Penny's attorneys, says it will be used to pay for 24-year-old Long Island native's legal fees and for 'any future civil lawsuits that may arise, as well as expenses related to his defense.'

The fundraising platform being used is named GiveSendGo which until now was better known for being used by those charged with participating in the January 6th Capitol riot and by supporters of Kyle Rittenhouse.

The page hit the $1million mark in the hours after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis tweeted a link to the page. On Friday, Penny, 24, was freed pending trial hours after turning himself in at a police precinct and appearing in court to answer criminal charges. He did not enter a plea.

Bail bondsman Ira Judelson told DailyMail.com Penny was 'very quiet and nervous' and was 'respectful' as he was arrested and arraigned.

This is good. The people have spoken, and they are right.

Will the radical left call up the online donation services and tell them to cancel this? They’ve done it before. Since they are so full of hate, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did it again.

When the facts of the situation come out, he was correct in trying to stop the dangerous man. But the article leads the reader to believe he was military trained in the use of the hold.

They do not teach military to kill civilians away from the zone. He would have had him unable to harm anyone in under ten seconds and never should have held a hold like that locked in for twelve minutes. If he was military or academy trained he could have released him from that and subdued him with other ways that were not deadly. They are taught those too. I can’t support a person who deliberately kills someone to stop another situation when there were other ways to finalize the situation without killing someone if it isn’t necessary.

Sad part is that $1,000,000 will be buying a lot of goodies for a few lawyers. New Mercedes at least

Well, more will come out at trial, I’m sure.

We can’t say he deliberately killed that guy. Not at this point.

The whole point of joining the military is to PROTECT CIVILIANS. The military teaches others before Self. Killing is a part of that.

“We can’t say he deliberately killed that guy.”

If he was trained at academy or military, he knew the lethality of the hold and was well aware of what it would do and how rapidly. This is common knowledge and shared by the military at every branch and location.

The only way he wouldn’t have known all of it is if he learned it from someone that never should have taught it to him and not briefed him on it’s capacity.

As I understand from the reading, he came at him from behind, and without anything else happening, he locked it in. This was no accident, he just improperly did something a marine knew not to do. It wasn’t necessary and killed the guy unless an autopsy gives other information like the Floyd case that was ignored.

12 minutes? Didn’t know it was that long. But in the short clip I saw he held him in a HEADLOCK and NOT in a CHOKEHOLD. Maybe he later transitioned to a chokehold but not in the short video clip I viewed.

You say all this with great authority. Obviously you were on the train. Please let us know all the details as the eyewitness you claim to be. Otherwise, it’s time to zip it and wait until the actual details come forth.

Kenniff is a top-notch defense lawyer. He ran against Bragg for DA. I don't think he's in this just for the cash. He doesn't need it.

Witness says Neeley was making death threats. Penny apparently took him seriously.
