Perhaps the reason the Germans accepted the Nazis, or allowed them to seize power at least, was because they had become morally bereft.

Back in the 1920s you had Communist Antifa members rioting in the streets, beating up any who opposed them (sound familiar?). The liberal authorities refused to enforce the law. The middle class was afraid of communist revolution.

Finally a man emerged, a decorated war veteran who organized his own groups to fight the communists in the streets. The regular people cheered him and elected him to high office to fix the mess that Germany was descending into.

That man was named Adolf Hitler.

Spain also was also suffering Antifa Red Terror in 1934-35. It also looked to a decorated war veteran to fight back. His name was Francisco Franco.

Germany was having trouble, what a sad, sad story
Needed a new leader to restore its former glory
Where, Oh where was he? Where could that man be?
We looked around and then we found
The man for you and me.
And now it’s...........
