Interesting article. I guess a step in the right direction to understanding orbital mechanics is realizing just how much we don’t understand about orbital mechanics. I thought the math pretty much took the guesswork out of it.

Far from nearby objects, even deep space probe location calculations are approximations. All models are wrong; a very small number are useful, sometimes.

Mathematics is eternal, without time, space, or energy, an inseparable branch of God. It's a perfect truth, while all our senses of the real world are approximations, technically lies. It's easy to ascribe God-tier perfection to mathematical models, but the perfection is only with the math itself, never its application to reality.
