She is really a populist. Not a “true conservative” but she 70 percent of the time is going to drive the left bonkers.

As is Trump. Almost all current populist are on the conservative side of the political spectrum. Orban, Duda, Meloni. Others still hold influence, even if they don't run the government, Marie Le Pen, Geert Wilders, etc. Populism seems to be on the rise in Europe, but it is being fiercely opposed and labelled as autocratic, xenophobic, racist, etc. Many on the left are essentially trying to equate neo-populism with Nazism.
