There is a second alternative: Enroll your children in a solid Christian school. Do your homework before enrolling them. My wife and daughter teach in a Christian school. The students need to learn critical thinking and reasoning skills. The teachers do their best, but parents need to expect their children to finish their assignments at home when necessary. Look at their work. Go to teacher “open house” when notified. Sadly, many students do not have the work ethic required to understand concepts like advance mathematics (i.e., physics, and chemistry). They also need to see how the subjects they study work together so that they can build a scaffold (think of Legos), where one can make a unique result that solves a problem that interested them that they could not solve when they started. Doing this helps build their self-esteem.

That is important.

When we home schooled, my kids would often ask why they had to learn something, especially in math. I told them that alter they would see how it all fit together.

It was when they started algebra that they noticed that. My oldest said to me, *NO\pow I see why we had to learn that stuff. It all fits together now.* She thought it was pretty cool.
