You seem to be forgetting that there is a very real being called Lucifer. Even the Bible tells us that (if only obliquely).

Satanism/Luciferianism isn't just a reaction to the Bible. That's Sunday School thinking.

Going all the way back to Babylon and even before the Flood, there were people who worshiped Lucifer (by a variety of different names). And this religion has been alive ever since...just kept very private for the obvious reasons.

People who think this stuff is just something that rebellious high school kids do are naive. Just because Luciferianism is practiced in the shadows and isn't covered by the press doesn't mean it isn't real.

That said, practitioners of this "faith" don't always see it in Biblical terms and not always using Biblical names.

Muslims have been known to tear up (and burn) the Bible. Their sole reason for believing in Allah (who is a form of Lucifer) isn't the Bible.
