I’m sorry I must’ve misread about my Hrafi. This is hard for me to say but you need to stop dwelling on all the gloom and doom that stacked up on you right now. I know it’s tough to read it but it’s bringing you down even further and I speak from experience. So basically what I’m saying is that You need to go into Pitbull mode when dealing with the insurance/banks/title companies etc. With the stress on You right now it will probably help to get things completed.
When my dad passed away I went into a major drone mode. I focused on taking care of mom making sure that the living trust was adhered to Including car titles property titles bank accounts all that kind of stuff insurance accounts. Aside from doing those things I blocked off the kitchen with me in it and told everybody whatever they want to eat tell me and I’ll make it for them other than that I stayed in His Workshop. I slept on the last project He finished, a Massage Table with a face slot. That worked well as I tend to sleep facedown. I had very little if any emotion for several years l. Then one day I lost it for several months and was not a pleasant person to be around.
Did Y’All have a Will or Living Trust of any kind ? Joint bank account(s), vehicle title, insurance policy (You need to go through the house from top to bottom, North, South, East and West to find this stuff. Look in the shop and garage, storage shed etc. Any and Everywhere.) marriage certificate ? You should be able to get insurance policy information. If there’s a Claim already going on the fire there’s no reason for the insurance company to not take care of things for You. (Other than they never want to pay out anything, ever.)
If I may, What’s up with the beneficiary protection thing ? You should be able to get Military/VA/Social Security Surviver and Death (a lousy $255 IIRC) Benefits and Your or His SS Retirement Funds whichever is greater, as far as I know. Maybe someone else here can help out with this stuff.
