The response by the person from Spain is common among people I have worked with over the decades with folks from other countries.
I always take folks to NHL,MLB,NBA & College Football Games when they are located to whatever city the job takes us.
They are generally surprised by the National Anthem, and found it confusing, and Cool at the same time.
When they ask why, I just tell them that's what we do here in the U.S.A. No problem. "When in Rome..."
