When I was a kid, they broke up the class into Early Birds and Late Birds. The early birds went to school an hour earlier and had more advanced instruction. It was a way to separate the smart kids from the dumb kids where the dumb kids didn’t slow down the smart kids. I think this is a way to separate the merit students from the affirmative ones so the merit ones are not slowed down and further become contemptuous of the affirmative ones

Getting up and going to school early is no indication of IQ. What a stupid idea. So at your school if you were a night person you were automatically relegated to dunce status. Glad I didn’t go there. We’re brown eyed people considered smarter than blue eyed people and given a better education too, or vice versus?

Agreed, it would be interesting to see the affirmative action and minority whiners who got in by quotas separated and educated in medicine all the way through residency, apart form those selected by merit alone.

The difference would be astounding.

The old way of educating physicians really worked.

PS the NEJM and UCSF keep beclowning themselves, squandering reputations that took a century to achieve. Shame on both sets of communists.

Except from the early/late thing, which I never experienced, you are exactly right.
