My “family and friends” contains several hundreds of individuals—neighbors, co-congregants, co-workers, extended family and their relatives, in-laws and their relatives, and past neighbors or congregants with whom I keep in touch or share cherished memories. There are many such supernumerous, overlapping groups of beloved extended families in the US.
