The Crazy Contours of the Crazier 2024 Election
American Greatness ^ | 30 Apr, 2023 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 05/01/2023 5:08:11 AM PDT by MtnClimber

For the Left, having virtually no president at all certainly has its advantages. With no one in charge, everyone is in charge.

We start with the likely American landscape over the next two years.

Joe Biden has no choice but to focus on a purely negative message. So we already know his talking points for the next 18 months: “ultra MAGA” demons, “semi-fascist” insurrectionists, Trump!, Trump!, Trump!, and more Trump!, murdering fellow Americans by putting limits on partial-birth and early abortions, “censorship” as banning critical race theory indoctrination and grooming books, inciting racial tribalism, along with the corollary old boilerplate triad of isms—“fascism, sexism, and racism!”

There will be no Democratic primary debates, even if support for Robert Kennedy, Jr. surges to 25-30 percent of the Democratic electorate. The latter is banking on his name, his gut instinct there are still some JFK-like Democrats and Independents in hiding, the decline of Joe Biden, and the pushback against all things woke.

Biden is failing at a geometric rate of enfeeblement and would likely not be able to rest up, medicate, and prep full-time to salvage the debates as he did as a candidate in the attenuated debate series of 2020. His handlers do not wish to tempt fate a third time and hope that if it comes to a Trump-Biden race that they can goad Trump into offering an excuse to curtail or cancel the debates entirely.

Why Stick with Biden?

So why does the Left stick with Biden, given his high negative ratings, the red-flag example of an enfeebled Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and a disabled Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.,), and his daily lapses of cognition, his inability to read off a teleprompter, his slurring of words to the point of incomprehensibility, his peculiar short-step, hands-out gait, and the...

Dems are looking for ways to have the first female President.
Biden stepping down or being re-elected and then stepping
down. That is why the GOP needs to put a lot of efforts into
the House and Senate races.

Always love me some VDH! And everything he wrote about this time is spot on as usual.

But one very important thing is missing. There wasn't even the slightest mention of voter fraud. One of the reasons the Dims stand behind Biden for re-election is because they believe the fraud will help whoever the Dim candidate is. Likewise, all the talk about how Trump and DeSantis each helps or hurts his chances is academic if the voting fraud isn't suppressed.

Biden is the best candidate the Dems have. That says a lot.

The best candidate they have (from their perspective, of course) is Hakeem Jeffries, but he’d rather be Speaker of the House.

The dirty little secret, of course, is that it doesn’t matter who is in the White House for the Democrats, since the policies would be exactly the same—RFK Jr. is the “maverick” but he won’t be allowed anywhere near the nomination, anymore than Bernie was in the previous cycles.

Sean Hannity has been advocating playing fire with fire on his radio show.

He argues that Republicans should be using the same tactics that Democrats have been using the past 2 national election cycles. These are :

Early Voting : We can’t be lagging behind before official Election Day by a few hundred thousand votes hoping to catch up on Election Day.

Do ballot Harvesting better than Democrats ( since it is already legal ).

Guard the mail-in ballots and win against the same Democrat tactics.

Those are his arguments.

“Dems are looking for ways to have the first female President.”

As democrats seem far more concerned with identity over qualifications, you are correct. I just can’t think of a much greater insult to women than to have that cackling whore as the first female president. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if they elect a tranny. Oh, wait…

They don’t have to elect anyone. Just have Biden step down
and VP Harris moves up to president. My personal belief is
that is their plan for the next election. Re-elect Biden and
he will step down and at some point and VP Harris becomes the
President.

Ted Cruz's name is misspelled...maybe spellcheck is to blame.

If Feinstein steps down, Newsom could appoint Kamala as senator from California and Biden could select Newsom as VP. Biden is then coerced into retirement (on the promise of a pardon from Newsom, like Nixon and Ford), and Newsom picks a woman as the new VP, maybe Whitmer.

Ping! Out to the Victor Davis Hanson list

POTATUS ping!

Do they not understand that the subtext of the current toxic inclusion of Hunter Biden on Air Force One, the shakedown pay for his nose-brush paintings, his new move into the White House, and his cue-card presence at the side of his bewildered dad are all a sort of implied familial blackmail by a prodigal son who believes he got dirty and decadent enriching the Biden clan–his father especially—and yet was never appreciated for his skullduggery?

... Given all that, the 2024 Democrat campaign in default style has pivoted also to lawfare.

If Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, Fani Willis, Jack Smith, and E. Jean Carroll can stagger their indictments and lawsuits, egg Trump to keep posting on social media, prepare all sorts of gag orders, stays, delays, hearings, and consultations that require Trump to appear in court in chronic fashion, then they believe they can win him just enough empathy to take the Republican nomination, but by November create enough nationwide exhaustion that Independents, Rhinos, and some shaky Trump supporters stay home with a sigh that they “can’t take it anymore.”

US elections since the 1970s and the rise of the Uniparty “donor class” are not about who you like more (and why), they are about who you and your identity group hate.

That’s why all the “Why would PA voters elect a vegetable” talk cracks me up.

A lot of Fetterman voters had no idea who he was. But they sure knew who “Dr. Oz” was.

If you think voting can still work for positive change (I don’t), at least try to realize that arguments like “Biden is senile, Biden does nothing, Biden is a Chinese puppet” only can affect the 10% of Biden voters who care at all about who he is or what he wants.

90% of Biden voters will go to the polls (or whatever) because they know they HATEHATEHATE “Rethuglicans”. And a LOT more people hate Republicans then hate Democrats. I mean, isn’t Jimmy Kimmel a nice guy?

That’s America today.

It doesn’t seem like an argument to me, rather solid solutions for victory. I live in a blue state. It’s only blue because of 4 counties out of 39!

We also have 100% mail in balloting. We, conservatives tend to hold our ballots until Election Day. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

We need to insure everyone within our circle of influence is a registered voter and votes, even if we have to harvest their ballot or drive them to the polls. We also need to volunteer at our local elections office as ballot/poll watchers, more light shining through the less they can steal.

This is how the pierced lowlife next door keeps kicking our asses during elections, time to fix that. We need to roll up or sleeves and get after it!

Why do you think the hatred is there? Is it indoctrination?
