So good to see you and learn of what you have been about for the last little while.
Hello neighbor! I’ve mostly been on vehicle and tent camping adventures. A few days here and there in town for a treat to a motel or hotel room.
I assisted a couple of “trail angels” as a surrogate trail angel at Picketpost Mtn. Trailhead/crossroads to the Arizona Trail and ran hikers into and out of the local town - Superior, plus a few runs into the valley of the sun.
Making a cannonball run to California later this week for work. I’m going to help the former owner of the resort where I work in the summer, with the construction of a 24’ x 28’ garage, then head up into the big mountains.
There’s so much snow that the power company that built the lake isn’t going to start clearing the roads and pass into the area until mid-May and only expects to clear a path in by about mid-June.
The last really big snow year - 2017, the resort’s official opening day was Father’s Day. We will be lucky to be ready by the 4th of July, but it is a worthy goal.
The closest ski resort - Mammoth Lakes (17 miles as a crow flies to the NE) is planning on staying open well into August.
