I use myself as an example with the wannabe gun grabbers in my midst.
I’ve had guns my whole life. Heck, when I was a kid I had a couple of rifles in my room, and my grandfather’s shotgun. Knew where my Dad’s .38 was, because he showed me where he kept it for home protection and he was always working. Took me out shooting with it so I knew how to use it. I was probably ten.
I had a horrendous temper when I was a kid. It literally never occurred to me to use those weapons even at my angriest moments.
Most people who have been around guns all of their lives, and had access to them, have never used them to hurt anyone.
I’m sure a lot of kids had anger issues to one extent or another- me included- and yep- noone ever grabbed a gun in our towns that i know of- we settled our differences without extreme violence- kids today are growing up with extreme rage OR in areas where kids carry and use- but still i highly doubt the leading cause of deaths is guns in kids-
