Yes, but the fact that William will one day be King and Kate Queen means that the Brits are willing to tolerate Charles as King, and hope he does not last too long. William and Kate attended all the public functions.

Unofficially the Royal House changed(although the name remains Windsor.) Queen Elizabeth the second was the last Monarch of the House Of Saxe- Coburgh Gotha. Charles the 3rd is the first Monarch of the House of Glucksberg.
