“Prosecutors said Aguirre was already out on probation for aggravated assault in South Texas at the time of the shooting.”

Seems to me had the Criminal Justice system kept this hot head in jail Nix would be alive... Way to blame the victim.

No he shouldn’t have been scamming people for money, but the shooter’s criminal history sure seems more the type that needs put away for life, over some couple of bucks theft by deception racket.

“Way to blame the victim.”

I think it’s acceptable in this case. He put the quarter in the juke box but didn’t get to pick the song. As for the murderer, string him up.

Valid point.

It’s just that Nix seems to have been doing this every day, and it’s the kind of low level crime that’s being ignored.

Aguirre might or might not have been a good candidate for probation but at least assault is potentially a one time thing.

When government doesn’t maintain the peace, more hotheads act on their own.

Not saying Nix deserved to die for $40, or for $4000 if he pulled his scam a hundred times. But something needs to be done about this low level misery. You end up paying for parking twice at best, at worst you are towed and liable for all those costs. People hate being cheated and people feel very cheated these days. Give that rage a focus and it’s bad news.
