“Today there is an important political result in Strasbourg - at the PACE session. A resolution has been adopted that recognizes that Russia’s deportation of Ukrainian children bears the hallmarks of genocide. Practically speaking, this decision will significantly help our global work to bring Russia and its officials, including the head of the terrorist state, to justice for genocide and genocidal policy against Ukraine.
The deportation of Ukrainian children is one of the well-thought-out elements of Russia’s attempts to erase the identity of our people, to destroy the very essence of Ukrainians. This is a deliberate crime of genocide committed by Russian officials - this is how it should be qualified both politically and legally.
Today, the First Lady of Ukraine addressed PACE - specifically about children and families. Our parliamentarians and diplomats have done a good job. And at all levels - formal and informal, with leaders of states, at the parliamentary, governmental, law enforcement levels, in the legal community and in international and inter-parliamentary organizations - we will continue to work for the return of all deported Ukrainian children and for the punishment of Russia,” Zelensky said.

A Ukrainian artillery unit fired an American-made howitzer near Bakhmut on Tuesday (April 25) as Ukraine’s military was rumored to be preparing for a counter-offensive.
Andrii, a 22-year-old gun commander, told Reuters in a hideout near the artillery position, that although the American-made M119 howitzer was first used in the 1980s, it had one big advantage over Soviet-made guns.
“This (howitzer) is easy to handle. Our (Soviet-made howitzers) are more complicated to handle, which costs us time. And as you know, we don’t have much time,” he said.
Spotting targets in Bakhmut for Andrii via reconnaissance drones, 24-year-old Yaroslav added that it had become more difficult to hit Russian troops in the embattled town.
“We often observed large groups of soldiers moving around, it was very illogical... they adapted, and now we see them moving in small groups, two to four people that move around, keeping 20 to 30 meters distance,” Yaroslav said.
The general staff of Ukraine’s armed forces, in a report on Facebook, said fighting gripped Bakhmut and nearby areas. It said Russian forces had failed to advance on two villages to the northwest. At least a dozen localities came under Russian fire.
