I’m going to be interviewing with a company that runs a/the website for VA healthcare for the government. Any questions I can ask would be infinitely valuable!!! Here’s a chance for me to make things better!

Government employee here - the government loves the ‘woke’ BS, but they also require key positions to know what they’re doing. I’m in a relatively key position with the appropriate (and not needed in the 90s and earlier) certification. So I can see around the BS for now.
A government contractor - may be subject to drug testing, possibly a security clearance also. I’ve dealt with both as an employee, although I sometimes wonder about the psychological test I had to take in 2001. LOL
Main thing to me - if you know your stuff and are good at it, you have a very high probability to getting the position.

I’ll have to park the humility for a moment.
I had to do a job change 2 and a half years ago. I was working as a contractor for a year, and after interviewing me for a regular full time position I noticed my background was a near perfect match for what they needed. And it seemed they were having a hard time finding candidates with my skillset, and offered me more than I was asking.
It was at this point I noticed yet another time when God wasn’t my co-pilot. But sometimes he does let me put my hand on the yoke and pretend I’m in control.
It’s gonna suck when some of the way upper management that are Weffers find out for sure that their game is up in my company and the healthcare companies. But maybe the good Lord will put you up there in the VA healthcare to do what needs to be done in the coming years. Best of luck.

Re: VA messaging. - mosquito byte stuff.
Depending on what’s wrong, the healthcare runs in groups\teams...overseen by a PCP.
Everything goes thru the PCP.
In my case, I have an Oncology\Hemotology nurse and a Pharmacy Dr. in addition to my PCP.
It’s a PITA if I am dealing directly with, let’s say, my Pharm Dr.
I cannot message them directly. It goes to the PCP and they are supposed to delegate to whomever.
I end up putting the Pharm Dr.’s name in the subject line to be sure it’s seen by her.
Seems to me it would be easier to allow me to message my Pharm Dr with a copy going to the PCP.
When I reply to my Pharm Dr. it goes to the PCP not the Pharm Dr.
What I don’t know is, how it’s handled on their end. It may be good to go for them.
