If parents allow their five year old to drive on the interstate and the child causes an accident the parents are held liable. If the child is permanently disfigured I would assume as some point they should be allowed to sue their idiot parents. It would be the same here.

Many years ago, about 30 I’d say, my wife rear-ended a car in a notorious stop and go area. One of my sons was riding shotgun and his arm was broken by the air bag. As I was going through the paperwork for the insurance company I came across a section that, if checked and signed, would result in an automatic lawsuit for My son against the driver.
That was 30 years ago.
