Ottawa County is just west of Grand Rapids on Lake Michigan.
Looks like the community got pissed at the GVT forced mandates and probably the forced gay agenda. Some noteworthy quotes:
"helped define what remains of the common good."
" Department heads canceled implicit bias training sessions"
" “I am sick unto death of all the Jesus talk,” she said to cheers from the other side. “We are here for the common good.”"
No paywall at link, long article.

...With his quarter-zip sweaters and khaki pants, Moss looked like a suburban dad out for a round of golf, one who usually kept a handgun strapped to his hip...
No bias there.

De Tocqueville. I believe, analyzed that Americans believed in local government and there in lies our strength.

I grew up there and lived there until a career change 6 years ago. We still have lots family in Ottawa County. Like many places it IS conservative but the "leaders" had gone woke due mainly to the influx of Chicago money and residents that moved there to get (cheaper) vacation homes. In the last 10 years or so the county had bought TONS of prime real estate along the Grand River and turned it into parks. There are more stinking county parks there then you can believe. Don't get me wrong, I like parks but this is overkill.
Also return there to visit 2 or 3 times a year and let me tell you they were lockstep with the COVID crap under Whitmer. The real people of the county hated that.
Add into that the relentelss trans/gay caving by county officials and the real conservatives did what they needed to do...organized and took over the board via legitimate elections.

The compost and msn…a doubleheader of duplicity and agenda driven propaganda.

Leftists hate it when it is done to them what they do to others. I love it!

Because we’re not control freaks, our side has been poorly-represented in local governments. That has to change.

The new commissioners, all Republicans, swore their oaths of office on family Bibles. And then the firings began.

I’d call that...
.
... A good start.

An American flag held down a spot at the front of the board’s windowless meeting room. Sea-foam green carpet covered the floor.
The new commissioners, all Republicans, swore their oaths of office on family Bibles. They want to make that all sounds tacky or ominous, but it's just life. Even Democrat politicians have to pretend to have family Bibles on inauguration day.

That local news like this is even on the WAPO’s radar tells us that the Dems fear a move towards democracy. Watch for national Lawfare resources to be brought in to cause trouble for the county. The teacher’s union will still have considerable power over public education and costs.

It’s got possibilities. :)
