So, if you’re a young, wokey girl with a black boyfriend, you be sure to go down and show your support!
raciss!
What are they implying ? Avoid areas where there are young blacks?
Isn’t that you know……
Racist
How about CCW insurance? Anybody?
I don’t get it but I do get it. What should be done is have a HEAVY police presence armed to the teeth. And when the large group of “teens” show up walk right into them. The first one to assulat an officer shoud be taken down quickly and forcibly and hauled into a bus. Everybody afterwards should be treated the same. If the crowd starts to riot get out the fricking water cannons and tear gas and go to town.
”Ber-wyn!”
I’ll get the popcorn, someone bring chairs and drinks.
Brookfield Zoo is right next-door; no shortage of cages if things get out-of-hand.
If that were to happen , then the narrative would be that these police are acting just like Bull Connor and his police dogs 60 years ago.
I agree with you that unruly crowds ought to be dealt with by riot police. I’m just saying that if that happened, the media would portray it as a severe overreaction. People like the outgoing and new incoming mayor of Chicago, would say, hey these young people are just out enjoying the evening and we’re seeing police brutality.
I sure hope nothing happens. If I lived around there I think I would avoid the area on Saturday just in case.
Could be a set-up, as well. Provoke a big response to a nothing-burger, and yell “racism. “
tell ‘em one location then set up the riot somewhere else...
I was wondering how all those kids got downtown this past weekend.
Bussed in?
The El, maybe. The area is probably “blessed” with plenty of mass transit. A good way to flee any ensuing fracas, as well.
Memories of a Chicagoland youth!
It’s a straight shot from the South Side to the Loop via the Red Line. Some of the more entrepreneurial “teens” will alight at Roosevelt to assault fellow CTA passengers, maybe grab a sailfoam or two, before continuing their commute to downtown.
thanx...maybe....there is a train stop at millenium station... Randolph & Michigan ave...end of the line from the south side.
wonder why Metra didn’t notice a large contingent of utes and question it...
