BTDT both discussion wise and user wise, and research wise.
My position: anything that disturbs, changes, influences, distorts the natural consciousness whether psych drugs, alcohol (esp in excess), heroin, mj, mescaline, LSD etc is not beneficial.
Everyone has free will to think what they want on this topic, and as a former user (decades ago when MJ was MUCH weaker) and researching the topic, I have my position, and others may have theirs.
