Mitch didn't want the Republicans to be in the majority, even for a couple of months.
I'm a little fuzzy on this.
How does Mitch coming back change that? is it a majority of 100 or a majority of those present?

I believe it is a majority of those present.

Senators have to be present to vote, unlike the House critters.

Feinstein and Fetterman were out, so Mitch took a fall to keep the Dems in the majority.

Not that it matters much with Romney, Collins, Graham, and a few other turncoats I tend to forget.
