My brother used to live across the street from Compton high school and I can promise you, they are the opposite of any deep south white supremist hideout. There are even signs in places that read “no whites allowed” openly posted and you don’t dare get out of your car if you (can) drive through. And the Raiders were considering putting their team in there. They have real live orks living there. And they walk the streets 24/7.

The last time I was in Compton other than just passing through, I drove up to see what I could see during the Rodney King riots.

Point of order. Bum’s Rush means being physically thrown out an establishment. Typically associated with grabbing someone from behind by the collar and waist of the pants and pitching them out the door and into the street.

Beat me to it. Nobody knows what a "bum's rush" is anymore, maybe because we're not allowed to call anybody "bums". They're all "The Homeless" now. Calling someone a bum is too judgemental.

Compton improved dramatically when the Mexicans and Chicanos took over. Now it looks like their offspring are taking over the job once reserved for “teens.”
