One of the greatest barn finds of all time was recently uncovered in the Netherlands and will soon be sold at auction. The Palmen Barnfind Collection is named after its former owner. Mr. Palmen began collecting special cars over 40 years ago. He eventually stored over 230 vehicles in a church and two warehouses, where the cars were rarely seen by anyone. Due to circumstances and his increasing age, Palmen can no only longer keep his impressive collection, and Gallery Aaldering, a classic car dealer, acquired the massive historic fleet.

That is not a barn. It is a warehouse and possibly temperature and humidity controlled.

There used to be a guy who spent all of his time repairing/restoring the hardtop convertibles as a mobile service.

I thought I was a Corvair in there. That was my first car. I think it was a 1960 or ‘61? Red hardtop. Oh that car....I can remember driving, the faster you went the faster the windshield wipers would go. haha

Looking at the list, I think I saw 3 Corvairs. Pretty good for Europe.

Wasn’t there a twin turbo engine in a Corvair back in the day?

Yes, I thought I saw 2 or 3 of them in that video. I don’t know if there were twin turbo engines in them? All I know is my dad bought me my first car. I THINK he paid somewhere between $300-$500 for it used way back in ‘68 or ‘69? I bet the ones in the auction are gonna sell for a whole lot more, huh?!

"And it is very eclectic l saw jags Benz even what looked like a 59 Ford"

I saw what I believed to be an old Lincoln Continental from the 50's. When I checked the auction list, there's a 1956, 1959, and a 1964 up for auction. The list is amazing. Some of those cars I never heard of.

Yes. Last December needed some engraving done on a christening gift for a great godson. Finally found someone in Minnesota who had equipment to handle a concave-to-convex 3D surface.

He’s trying to retire for the second time but has a large client list for reproduction labels, tags, etc. for classic car rebuilds. Need a tag for a 1950s Delco distrubutor - he can do it.

That has to be a wonderful situation for collectors and restorers, especially the ones who aren’t billionaires that can go to the ends of the earth and pay anything to find the real part.

The next door neighbor was a mechanic for a Chevy dealership. He brought a used Corvair home for his high school son. Son hated it and I was hoping I could buy it. Every Chevy they ever owned was in tip-top shape because the father worked on them. They traded it for another Chevy. This was the model/color. Beautiful car.

They were a blast to drive as well, I paid $100.00 dollars for my 1963 Corvair.

The guy who was Big Daddy Don Garlit’s personal mechanic when they were working on the first rear or front (I forget which) dragster found it for me when we were roommates, he was about 10-12 years older than me.
