Anyone with even a modicum of common sense had a gut instinct the entire story is b.s.

With leftists and your average "normie" the problem is that they are truly conditioned to believe the fictional reality presented to them by TV and social media, to the point where they have a violent emotional reaction any other narrative.

But with supposed "conservatives" who also refuse to question those narratives, a number of whom are on FR, the problem seems to be that they simply cannot comprehend that things have changed massively, that the version of the country they thought they were living in is gone, and maybe was never truly real, and in its place is an increasingly totalitarian regime nearly as bad as any in the third world. Their minds won't allow them to process that. They couldn't process that they were lied to about COVID, and now they can't process that they have been lied to about Ukraine, and it really doesn't seem to matter how much evidence is shoved in their faces.

I’m a pretty consistent objective thinker and let the facts lead, it’s a fact as you say, this isn’t the country I grew up in, our freedoms are in fact being taken away with barely a fight and we have a media in bed with the government controlling what is news and what is not. Not terribly unlike socialist and communist countries.

Free and fair elections? That’s been bullshit for decades and I could go on for days.

The fact that the government and media together brazenly gaslight people daily too, and so many eat it up like truth used to amaze me, no longer.

We used to be that shining city on a hill, now we’re a turd world banana republic and it was done deliberately.
