Ted Nugent has announced that his upcoming tour will be his last.
"This is 'Adios Mofo'. This is my last tour,” the outspoken rocker declared in a video posted to his YouTube channel and social media. “Now, I'll always play music. I've got new records I'm gonna make. I can't wait to unleash some of these new songs.”
“The point being is thank you, everybody, for an incredible musical dream," Nugent continued. "The musical dream will continue but I'm not going on tour anymore because hotels are jail. A hotel room is jail for me. My dogs won't allow me to not spend a day with them, so [my dogs] will go on the road with me this year. But the logistics are just too complicated when you have dogs and grandkids and kids and so many other things.”
Nugent went on thanking fans, while also promising not to reel in his oversized, and often controversial, personality.
“I’m radical. My music is radical. My attitude is radical. My middle finger is radical. My guitar sound is radical,” they guitarist declared. "The point is the American Dream has a soundtrack, and with my unbelievable musicians for 65 years, I have created the most fun, titillating, centrally stimulating soundtrack in the history of the world. This will be, like last year, in 2022, 'Detroit Muscle,' this will be the greatest, most intense, tightest, most dynamic, outrageously fun tour of my life. But 'Adios Mofo'."

Good Ted needs to clear off his schedule so he can be Trumps VP. 😁
Good Luck Ted!! Thanks for your tunes throughout my life!!
Can’t wait for Kiss to announce their next farewell tour.
Seeing him in ‘78 was one of the highlights of my concertgoing years.
I imagine touring is hard for him these days.
Luckily he lives about 80 miles from me and he’s gonna be mostly Texas local.
Edit that. He’s about 150 miles from me. Had to Google Crawford. Anyways he’s local.
last tour until the next one
I'm half surprised Gene and Paul haven't franchised Kiss yet. There could be five different bands, all named Kiss, all wearing the trademark makeup and costumes on tour around the world simultaneously and indefinitely.
Gene and Paul could stay at home and count money.
If there's a nickel that could be made off of Kiss, Gene Simmons would find a way.
Yeah, he's 74 and Covid almost killed him. At some point there comes a time when these old rockers just need to retire.
Yup. They marketed everything, including coffins.
I grew up in the Detroit area in the 60s, when Ted fronted The Amboy Dukes and I loved their first three albums. He was a big influence on the guitar player that I tried to be and only achieved with limited bedroom success. 😉
I’ve continued to follow him since those days, despite not buying or listening to much of his post-Dukes output, much of which I wasn’t especially fond of. But he’s always been an interesting, outrageous oddball, and it’s been loads of fun watching him blow up the heads of hate-filled leftists the past couple of decades, with his outspoken conservatism and love of America.
On Facebook, I belong to several music-oriented groups where comments have to be disabled anytime a post is made about ‘Uncle Ted’, because the haters swoop in and demonstrate their intolerance.
There have been several posts about the announcement of his final tour, and the crazies are, well…. going crazy!
He’s nearby in Texas terminology bet he goes into cooking: especially the animals he has harvested, with some wild licks off one of his Gibsons.
A few years ago Ted would never have said “mofo”.
I think Ted’s perhaps getting a bit soft in his old age =)
