They might not be able to bear the thought of unwitting complicity in the state of their son. When my uncle asked about the Covid shots that his grandson had been forced to take... his son and daughter-in-law went ballistic with screaming, crying, and profanities. The reaction indicates to me that whether they want to admit it or not, I believe that they are aware enough to realize that the Covid shots are the most likely explanation.
