A Florida middle school teacher has been arrested for hosting student fights and letting her kids brawl in the classroom, according to reports. Angel Footman, 23, allegedly allowed kids to sock each other senseless as she looked on from her desk, sometimes telling kids not to record the blows or attract attention by screaming and yelling.

They used to tell us “Not in the Classroom! Wait until recess and do that on the playground.”
“What did ya learn in class today son?”
Son: “I learned that it’s OK for men to beat the bejeebers out of women because we are all women.”
Father: “define woman for me son”
Son: “oh that’s hate speech father and I’m gonna havta report you”
Only in America!
“They used to tell us “Not in the Classroom! Wait until recess and do that on the playground.”
I was thinking the same thing.
One of our vice-principals in Jr. High back in the 70s (Washington Jr. High, Naperville Il) named Mr. Rossi ref-ed boxing matches between students, and encouraged any students who wanted to fight to come to him and he’d ensure that is was fair and safe. Brilliant, except I don’t think he considered the liability risk to which he was exposing the school.
Back in the day Catholic Schools would do this, sometimes the priest would teach the kids how to box.
Usually also the end result was the students who boxed each other became friends.
Haven’t we seen her standing on the counter at a Waffle House recently?
Fighting was pretty common. And they stayed out of it until it looked like someone was going to get seriously hurt more than a black eye. Not too many bubble wrapped crybabies back then...

Back in the 70s liability wasn’t the issue it is today.......I too attended high school in the 70s.
Our dean of boys carried a 24 inch fiberglass paddle with holes drilled in it to increase speed, tucked into the back of his pants. Looking back on it he was a bit too eager to use that thing sometimes going out of his way to find reasons.
And he did know how to use it.
One of many things that warranted the use was fighting......using violence to punish violence........45 years later and I still can’t work that out.
She’s a victim. In her socio-economic-racial class that is exactly what education is. School system owes her reparations. Teacher of the year.
If you’ve never seen this and can stand the language I recommend it for a good laugh......my catholic buddies swear this is 100% accurate.

I think that was her sistah.
She was wrong and now she’s busted, but what does that indicate? Maybe there should be a Boxing or mixed Martial Arts class offered to students, a class with proper supervision.
Do these schools have many outlets to burn some of that young energy? Not everyone is interested in playing basketball.
For me, Karate and Boxing were the only sports I really cared about. Everything else I found to be quite boring.
That’s our local Middle School located in the Ghetto. Not surprising..
