Are there any FReepers who will remain in Michigan? If so, why?

Heritage property going back 150 years. Also, some of my ancestors go back to when Michigan was Quebec. Tearing up those roots would be painful.

For the time being yes; my parents are in their autumn years, and once they’re gone, I’ll be leaving. What’s left of my family is here, some property up north, beyond that I have no reason to stay.

Go here and take a look, please realize that the nasty blue areas are concentrated like Detroit, Flint etc. Much of the state is scarlet red AKA the bible belt of the north many call it. Trump took these townships by over 70% where I live.
https://www.bridgemi.com/michigan-government/michigans-political-geography-shifting-these-interactive-maps-show-how There is something else going on here too, (and other counties in the north namely Wisconsin) can't prove why but the Michigan state legislature and the state senate both lost to the rats last fall, first time in decades. Why is this one may ask? It would seem around the state folks (leaning red) just quit going to the polls a few cycles ago, we have a problem with RINOs at all levels of gummit, you see the days of lesser of evils is over for many of us.
