Even more impressive then the band is their recording engineering.
I was blessed to have the opportunity to see EW&F live last summer. It was one of my favorite concerts. Leonid & Friends do a nice cover, albeit without the fancy footwork that EW&F had on stage. Great job!
Wore the grooves out on that album when it came out.
I think they did this one in Arizona, not Russia.
Nice! Going to see them in person awakened something in me that I hadn’t felt in a long time. We listen to them frequently ever since the show.
Ran across it yesterday. As usual, they nailed it, and then some.
That is a cool comment.
I saw them in Houston in 1981. Stellar musicianship and showmanship.
One of the amazing things about their band is how they keep replacing people with new people, and yet the quality stays just as high.
Yeah. I’ve been part of that process a couple of times.
They were amazing. It was supposed to be them opening for Santana, but Carlos had just had his illness days before, so EWF was the only show that night. I seriously think I wouldn’t have been able to appreciate Santana’s performance if he/they played that night as planned. I was so hyped up from EWF.
It was very good that we had to go back a few weeks later to see the other show, and seriously, though I love Santana, EWF blew me away with their showmanship. Just incredible. The power of live music.
Thanks!
The amazing thing is L&F is just as good, if not better, than the origianl artists they cover.

They are technically outstanding, but to me, a very big part of the enjoyment of listening to a song is thinking about the process of the artist(s) who created it. I like to think about band members, like Terry Kath and Peter Cetera, working out licks and lyrics and trying different versions of tunes until they get just the right sound.
I like L&F, but I quit listening to them because that very important (to me) element is missing.
They are a sensation, and props to them for being able to copy something already created until it sounds exactly like the original, but I prefer the original.
I just found out that Danil Buranov, the lead singer on this song recently moved to Arizona. The rest recorded in Russia.
I discovered L&F here in FreeRepublic and became a total fan. We’ve seen them three times and have tickets for the show in Lancaster, PA in June. We actually rescheduled our vacation to go to the concert.
Besides a free Charlie Daniels concert, I hadn’t been to a real concert in about 25 years until I discovered my Russian friends.
I just realized that you meant seeing EWF not L&F.
I saw EWF back in the early 80’s. They were massive then. Maurice White and Phillip Baily were in their prime’s, Verdine While was all over the stage. The interesting one was always Ralph Johnson. He just doesn’t come across as a music superstar.
