I dunno...but when I was about 10..my grandpa would grab an electric fence wire...and then grab me. Was not that big a deal.
At the link there is a photo of a woman who was tortured with one by police in China

Bet he bashes his wife around too.
Give a man a cattle prod and everything looks like a cow.
And then I would probably move on to kicking.
Not acceptable.
Dunno, Dad always used to joke about using a cattle prod on us kids to get us to behave, but he didnt own one, so no worries. I guessed it would have been a jolt but electricity never seemed to bother me-—yes I have been shocked through various misadventures with tools.
I got zapped a few times myself. And with a bull whip when I hit my brother with it first. I think I am OK.
Well, being raised on a farm and ranch, my two younger brothers and I sometimes chased each other around with hotshots. Yes, it was not pleasant but it was sure fun (at the time) 50 years ago.
Hotwire fences have been another experience over the years. About 10 years ago, I was working around a livestock waterer that was adjacent to a high tensile hot fence. I must have got too close as I got the shock of my life through one of the rivets on my jeans. I almost peed my pants.
Shocking
Why did you hit your brother with a bull whip?
“FReepers how dangerous is a cattle prod on a child 12 and under?”
Depends... Conservative Child or Leftist Communist Child?
Growing up one of our neighbors had an electric fence to keep in their show dogs. Don’t know if that is the same thing. My idiot brother and his idiot friends like to go up to it and grab it just to have hair like Billy Idol and feel the jolt. I never understood that cheap thrill.
Generally, they are used on cows and hogs. Ours was powered by 4 size D batteries. It wouldn’t kill, scar, or bruise you, but you would remember it. Some kids get really hammered by a belt. Probably similar to an electric fence.
Had a friend, who accidently peed on such a fence. He said he could feel it up in his kidneys.
My grandmother used to point at her knife rack and threaten to spank me with a butcher knife. It was big and scary looking. I paid heed to her. Later found out it was a bread knife. Ha haa she never had to use it.
Cattle prod? Might not hurt as bad as a belt. Or a wooden spoon!
Probably better the 12 year old than my old ugly butt. I was about that age when challenged to pee on an electric fence. We have two wonderful kids and grandkids. No permanent damage? Bet I never do it hat stunt again. Being the winner ain’t good sometimes. Doing it to kids for discipline is BS. Now the sheriff can use the prod on the guy, see if he obeys his commands. Makes me smile thinking about it.
Not dangerous, but funny as hell. I did it to myself once when I was young. I didn’t know what it was. A spanking from dad hurt more though.
