The 357 mag loads I like to shoot, would not be wise in a city. Sheriff came to my house after we had one of many burglaries at our farm. I told him I never go there at night without being armed. Asked him if he would like to see my hand gun. He did not seem too interested until I went to where I keep it and handed him the holstered pistol and told him it is loaded. It is heavy and he could see the HP jacketed bullets. I told him about the load I shot. He handled it with caution and then handed it back to me.
I did that for a reason. One to convince him that I knew how to handle it and that I don’t want to harm anyone. Then I told him about 2 previous incidents that I had in my life when a hand gun prevented a real threat.
Subject has never come up again.
I seldom carry it, in spite of the relaxed open carry laws here. I do carry it when at farm at night.
