Remember the Simon and Garfunkel song "At the Zoo"?

“was asking me about what things were like in WA. She was shocked to hear that our dept stores closed and never reopened”

I’m in SE and central WA State. None of our department stores have closed. Lots of new commercial construction. Residential housing prices have recovered and are on their way up again. And I rarely see a single homeless here.

the Only thing I missed in my years visiting there were the giant red wood trees. never made it that far north. That is THE only thing I regret missing.

CA is really a great place for the homeless...Sleep on the sidewalks, in parks, along freeways etc...

I recall not long ago it was an unseasonably hot day in LA, it was near dusk when I pulled onto a metered freeway onramps. There was a long line of people waiting to enter the freeway, when I looked to my right and saw dozens of eyes and faces staring at me from the bushes that line the LA freeways and onramps. An entire encampment. Very sad s**t.

I knew I had to get out...

California was nearly 80% white in 1970, today it is about 40%. Import the 3rd World, become the 3rd World.

I agree...I think the Leftists want it all to themselves, and by importing 3rd world slaves could make it hapen..but Brazil comes to mind.

That’s the way eastern big cities have been since the 1960s except the servants back then were black.

I like his channel.”

Likely, he did, “Slab City”?

Not too far from the ocean, the hippie-types can live their own lives in the desert. While it didn’t appeal to me, I can see where a Marijuana-doper would enjoy it!

As far as democrats care the entire states ends within a mile of the beach with a small blob in Sacramento.

That's about it. And if your forced to go to a public beach nowadays, ya got to fight to park and pay BIG for it. After walking 12 blocks to the beach you find it's like walking into United Nations beach day, plus your typical gangsters, illegals, white trash, thieves, drunks and cops thrown in.

That's why the wealthy want to keep their beaches private. ☺

Not in Western WA. Nothing has recovered. The only dept store that we have is Macy’s and it is like a bargain basement store, struggling to stay open. We have to drive about an hour and a half to get to any real shopping and that Nordstrom is mostly geared toward teenagers. They closed flagship store in Seattle and the new Macy’s as well and have no plans to reopen.

The housing prices are still rising, a starter house is. 4500,000. I guess the people are all working from home because. There has been no growth in businesses and the largest employer in Whatcom County has always been the government. …and the oil refineries.

No, but I’ll look for it.

I’m not surprised at anything that happens OVER THERE.
