I'm might be wrong here and if I am I apologize but I don't believe the DA sets the trial date, I think the judge does that which makes this whole thing a little worse since the judge seems to be in on this and should have recused himself due to his personal feelings towards the defendant.

Yes, I think you are correct. The judge sets the trial date. Though in this instance, I suspect the Biden campaign or whatever puppetmaster is running the clown show is coordinating all concerned. The trial date will be moved as necessary for maximum political effect.
