This is the horrifying moment a 15-year-old high school student punched a teacher in the head while demanding to get his cell phone.
Footage circulating Twitter shows the student standing intimidatingly close to the shorter educator repeatedly asking for his '******* phone' before swinging his fist into the teacher's face.
Lamar High School in Houston sent a letter to families with principal Rita Graves saying that this type of behavior won't be tolerated and that administrators were looking at ways to prevent this happening again.
Neither student or teacher have been publicly identified at this time.
In the clip a student repeatedly says 'give me my ******* phone back' the teacher calmly asking the student to 'sit down.'
'Give me my phone,' the student his heard saying yet again and appearing exasperated.
The student is then seen leaning back and punching the teacher square in the face as a bystander who is out of frame screams in disbelief.
The person filming is seen quickly ending the recording as the savage attack takes place.
DailyMail.com has contacted students, parents and Lamar High School's principal Graves for comment.
Speaking to KHOU 11 Texas branch of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the second largest teacher's labor union in America, said the kid has made a 'huge mistake.'

I just heard in person from someone who recently taught part time. He said a relative’s story from the 1990s of a teacher being stabbed by a student’s sharpened pencil and then slamming the classroom door shut in anger as he simply left the unruly troublemaker situation would result in immediate dismissal of the teacher.
Slamming a door is called a form of triggering and causing safety fears from the students in his and most other school districts.
Same with any touching such as separating a pair of fighting students. Teacher’s job over after suspension.
Teacher’s safety and rights? Huh, what’s that again?
And the video right under that one on the Daily Mail page shows a 6’6” no need to look cold-cocking a teacher for taking away his Nintendo Switch. And continuing to beat him until pulled off by other students. Truly an animal.
The thug broke a couple of First World rules. The first is not to hit someone wearing glasses.
The thug needs to be reassigned to a school that has very high walls. Preferably one in Alaska.

My teachers were all “greatest generation.” Many of them were WW2 vets. These are the types of teachers we need now.
