CZI isn’t listed on the bioRxiv advisory board so it may just be financial, for what that’s worth. But it is there. Here’s the advisory board:

The fact that this is a non-peer reviewed preprint paper is more significant. The paper is only two days old. No one has had a chance to examine the authors’ work or a chance to attempt to replicate their findings.
The paper itself carries this warning in a bright yellow header:
“bioRxiv posts many COVID19-related papers. A reminder: they have not been formally peer-reviewed and should not guide health-related behavior or be reported in the press as conclusive.”
and of course it’s being treated as conclusive here as confirmation bias claims routinely are.
I agree with that.
Not sure how much the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative has effected the good reputation of CSH Lab. I would hope that it hasn't.
