It’s my understanding that several years ago when AB was selling out to InBev, some of the michelob brewmeister headed to memphis (with their recipe for mich ultra) and were involved in starting FRIO brand brewery in an old schlitz brewery in Memphis
Frio had the same taste, calories & carb content as mich ultra, but was selling for under $20/30 pack.
It was a hot seller & took market share from AB throughout the mid south
Great taste for the money if you can find it
