So, would the bags of silver dimes sold by a metals company be a good way to aquire silver?

Silver coins, dimes, quarters, etc., by the 1/10 or 1/8 bag is a great way to go if you can find someone still selling that way. And you might have fun sorting them for dates? If you buy your way up to a full 1,000 dollar face value bag You will have something over 20 grand in your stash——good place to be.

Look for “junk silver”. I like culls too.

Silver slide.

“So, would the bags of silver dimes sold by a metals company be a good way to aquire silver?”

I would look for a local/nearby retailer...my dealer has silver coins though I personally purchase silver in 1, 5 and 10 oz. sizes.

Locally an oz. of silver sells for spot +$3.00 to $5.00 (currently it’s $4.00).

The link up thread charges $7.29 per oz (as low as $6.29) premium.

As for coins it’s $15,308 per bag ($500 face value — $1.50 in coins per oz. = 333.33 oz) which comes to $45.90 per oz.

That’s a lot of premium to pay...Locally a 100 oz. bar is always $1.00 less in premium than the per oz. rate...

Best of luck.
