As our knowledge base stands at the moment, you may be right. But we are only starting to become educated when we realize how little we really know. The facts and physics of the universe are like a gigantic tree with millions of branches. Our meager knowledge is contained in one tiny twig of one branch. We are really not nearly as smart as we would like to believe we are.
A little over a hundred years ago many great minds in physics and other sciences firmly believed that heavier than air flight was impossible. Accoding to their understanding of the “laws of physics”, that was true. When I was a youngster the ideas of satellites, space stations and flights to the Moon were the stuff of science fiction and comic books. Entertaining, but impossible. We have advanced exponentially in sciences and technology in the past hundred years, but how much farther could we advance in a million?
New discoveries in physics and cosmology are being made all the time, and we are pushing our little twig of knowledge farther. But at the same time we have no idea what is hidden on the other trillions of twigs and branches, nor how other beings may have utilized that knowledge.

Because they are not fully and physically solid to begin with. They are only “partially physical” so they are not solid.
