In the 1980s I worked with some people in London who were musicians. They had spent time with Bono. What they said about him confirms the comment in post #2.

Then there’s the avoidance of taxes by registering their home address in another European country.

I never could understand what they in common with Fleetwood Mac. That was me. Then some critic called Fleetwood Mac’s music ‘mental mush’.

Too many of these fans are attracted to them like moths to a flame. Light shows enhance that attraction. Then there’s that mystique where they ‘ration’ their public persona. A one-line political statement makes his fans feel he’s an intellectual because they like his music.
