I wasn’t sure if Canucks was considered derogatory or not. Years and years ago, I was in a department that took orders from the US as well as different countries. Most were sent in by fax, but some still made phone calls to place orders. I once got a call from a guy in Newfoundland. He called himself a “goofy Newfie”. LOL

The Broadway stage play “Come From Away” chronicled the treatment of “the plane people” when 6700 passengers “from away” were grounded in Gander, Nfld., on September 11, 2001. The actors did a good job of capturing the locals’ speech and customs. As a group, there are no better people on the planet than Newfoundlanders, in my humble opinion.
