"Russian security services have arrested U.S. citizens on spurious charges, singled out U.S. citizens [it doesn't like] for detention and harassment, denied them fair and transparent treatment, and convicted them in [kangaroo court trials] or without presenting credible evidence,"

I know another government that has done similar things and its capital is in Washington.

He should have been given whistle-blower protection.

He revealed crimes.

I think the news is that Russians just took another hostage.

America should pay them nothing. Same with the hostages taken by North Korea and Iran if these people went there willingly.

People have been warned not to go there and I believe the date of this warning is relevant here.

None of the revelations that he had documents to support were interesting. Instead, there was an artificially created scandal based on a mild “metadata” collection, which distracts from the fact that he illegally obtained and disclosed 1.7 million secret documents to both China and Russia.

China and Russia learned that the US .gov spied on its own people—I am sure that was a major revelation.

;-)

“How about China’s brutal repression of Christians along with other dissident groups”

While the government isn’t exactly executing Christians in the US, how else is it different here?

1. Censorship against Christians
2. Corporations against Christians
3. Television against Christians
4. Media against Christians
5. Liberals hunting and killing Christians in our churches and schools
6. Courts & Congress against Christians
7. Churches against Christians. Churches.
8. Bibles and Crosses banned in schools.

I could go on but there is a full-on attack on Christians right here in the USA.

“Moscow is probably safer than Chicago...”
***********************************************
I visited Moscow (and St Pete) back in ‘72 when it was still commie. I saw many young couples strolling around the downtown streets late at night with nobody worried about crime. Not sure what it’s like today though.

China and Russia learned whatever was in these 1.7 MILLION documents. No justification whatsoever for this traitor to just give this huge material to them.

He couldn’t have possibly known what was in there. If working 10 hours every day no weekends off and spending only 5 minutes reviewing each document he’d have spent 39 years seeing what is in all 1.7 million of these.
