Whatever they are seeing happened more than 657 million years ago.
For some reason this story reminded me that Sheila Jackson Lee is running for Mayor of Houston.....
“Though at 950 million light years from Earth it will be some time before we need to worry about it. If were still around here in 950 million years.”
You sure about that? If we see the change then it has already been 950 million years “since the change” right?
That event may have already occurred, and the effects thereof haven’t yet reached our galaxy.
When a burst is hence detected, it will already be too late.
