A new found respect——Like I said, I was absolutely glued to the video. If I didn’t know how it ended I probably would have “changed the channel” due to high “suspense”. They truly are selfless heroes!

And of course the cops didn’t know how it would end - they might have been the ones laying dead on the floor the next instant.
Reminds of some guy talking about WWII. Something like “And it’s all well and good sitting on this side of history, but at the time nobody knew how it was going to turn out, and not knowing what decision was going to be a success and what would be a blunder.”
