For years I have belonged to an indoor shooting range in Northern Virginia, less than fifteen miles from D.C. The area is overwhelmingly liberal/progressive, and votes for the Democratic candidate in any election, no matter what — really, no matter what! It used to be that I would see mostly military or ex-military types at the range, along with private security guards, and a few people like myself who just enjoyed the discipline of target shooting. In the past two years that has changed dramatically. Now, there are a lot of foreigners there, along with minorities, and obvious liberal types, including some that easily fit the description of the Nashville shooter. I guess I am happy that the sport is broadening its base and becoming more inclusive, but at the same time I am disturbed as to why that might be.
