Thomas Massie says Trump should have fired Fauci at the very beginning of COVID-19 pandemic
Twitter ^ | March 28 | Rep. Thomas Massie

Posted on 03/27/2023 10:34:18 PM PDT by RandFan

@RepThomasMassie

I was there on Sunday. It was obvious to anyone who dared to ask questions that Fauci was a fraud and Trump should have fired him. At a minimum Trump should have quit inviting him to the meetings and press conferences, but he did not.

RE:

@jannaherbison

Has @RepThomasMassie ever heard of the terms “Monday morning quarterbacking” or “hindsight is 20/20”? We all trusted Dr. Fauci back then. What else was the President supposed to do in real time?

Well, Massie, the republicans hold The House of Representatives. What are YOU and the republican party going to do about Fauci especially now that we know just how bad he is??? Let me guess. Ask him questions and have the members give soundbites? More and more soundbites like your useless f-ing tweet. FO!

Thanks!

The roar for impeachment would have been deafening and, as AnthonySoprano has amply illustrated, the calls for removal would have been just as loud on the Republican side.

.
Thanks

The big thing at the time, and the Republicans spread it to on the Sunday shows too, was that Trump was not pro-science and he really did himself a disservice by not listening to the Scientists and Fauci.

Trump wanted to lift restrictions several times, and he was berated by his own peeps.

Of course, I believe most of Congress wanted the Spending Party. Everything in the name of Covid.

I must have missed Massie’s call for Fauci to be fired back in 2020. And then after Trump left office I must have missed Massie’s call for Fauci to be fired in 2021 and 2022.

Oh, Massie didn’t call for Fauci to be fired until after Trump left and after Fauci left?

Useless, grandstanding pol.

"We all trusted Dr. Fauci back then."

B.S.

Trump claims he will drain the swamp. It is a lie. He fed it, protected it, funded it, and still brags and lies about it.

Fauci IS the swamp. Long known. By millions. He has been killing people and puppies for 4 decades. His aids approach was same as his covid scam: lie to scare, push new expensive poison, bad mouth effective cheap existing things, etc.

Don and his team were NOT all fooled by the well known demon Fauci. That is beyond believable. One of Dr Death's worst crimes against humanity was perpetrated in Trump's home town, NY. It's just that The Don is a populist politician.

Popular devil + populist politician = screwed population.

Don is a wuss. Freedom and American lives are paying a severe price for both his selfish timid inaction and later dangerous proud action.

In re to calling out Fauci, even the gays of the 80's were much brighter and braver than Trump 40 years later.

The defenses from the Trump believers are astoundingly lame. Donald J Bush and the pathetic excuses for his WMD released on Americans are worse than anything from Bush II.

In February 2020, nobody had ever heard of Fauci,

interesting. I seem to recall, at the introduction of the covid team members, a female WH reporter stood up and asked a "gotcha" question of Pres. Trump. Something to the effect of "Where's Dr. Fauci?" to which Pres. Trump turned to Dr.Fauci and introduced him and invited him to the lectern. And i was stunned that the reporter would ask about someone she couldn't recognize.

I can't remeber the details, and i can't find the video of that WH press event, though I do remember the gist of it.

DC is setup so that you need allies.

For month after month after month the Dems savaged Trump on J6, how many Republicans came out to defend him?

The same peeps that want to keep the RINOs are now blaming Trump for not doing more.

The same crazy Spenders wouldn’t vote to fund the Wall.

Why should he? Trump loved Fauci and thought Fauci should be telling the country what to do. Trump was president, so he gets to decide who rules us.

That’s BS. Fauci was well known for decades.

If Trump gets reelected, he’ll probably coax Fauci out of retirement.

When Trump was running, he said he knew who to fight. Then when he was president, he put the Dems in charge and turned into a cowering pacifist.

No, because it would just lead to more attacks on Trump.

IMHO what he should have done was to isolate Fauci by hiring/appointing a committee of virologists, immunologists, critical care physicians/pulmonologists and infectious disease docs that would be entirely independent of and actually above Fauci and Collins. More than half of these people would have to be chosen from outside of academics. He could have let Fauci think he was important, but totally defang and marginalize him and his enabler Collins.

PDJT lacks discernment.

PDJT thinks he, himself is a righteous man.

PDJT defaults to thinking well of others unless they cross him in any way or display the taint of losing.

Fauci seemed to step up and take on the responsibility of a dirty job, treating Uncle Sam for COVID 1984. But in reality he was smothering us with our own pillow.

This had a lot to do with a lot of people who worked for him. Congress, et al had Trump over a barrel. Damned if did and damned if he didn’t. If he even tried to fire Fauci, it would have been another grounds fir impeachment. If you remember, Fauci dud stop turning at Trumps press conferences. Sometimes it was Trump and Birki and sometimes just Trump. In mid summer 2029, Trump hired to work in the WH Dr Scott Atlas wand another Dr whose name I always forget whose thinking and approach about Covid were different than Fauci—more sound. That’s when things started to open and alternatives to Faucis ideas were used.
