With respect to nuclear power it is taking much longer than 12 years

The infrastructure for oil drilling can be kept in place, just in case, and that doesn't take 12 years to get restarted. Even coal can take a lot less than 12 years to get going. And natural gas is always around.

The infrastructure for 'renewable' will always be lacking in enough production to handle thw world's needs, and it would be unreliable.

I don’t disagree with you. Unfortunately the left has simply decided to mandate the shift from fossil to renewables and leave the details to the private sector which will be blamed for not delivering.
