George the Animal Steele (William James Myers , April 16, 1937 – February 16, 2017), a Michigan wrestler famous nationally when he joined McMahon’s WWF. He was a mathematics teacher who continued teaching high school and keeping the wrestling career on the side. His WWE Hall of Fame bio includes “one of the most beloved figures in sports-entertainment history.”
