I don’t think China or Russia will have any trouble sinking our carriers should the need arise. It ain’t 1945 anymore.
Yeh, well, it requires more than 1945 thinking, as well. A hyper coming in to a target has a weakness. Speed!! Coming in so fast, that any deviation needed to hit that target becomes a weakness. Yes, if the target has no idea of the incoming, they are toast. But those targets that can react, can either move, or impede the path of the missile in so many ways.
